How to Answer UC Personal Insight Questions
Short answer: Pick three from 1–7, plus number 8.
Longer answer: Choose the three prompts from 1–7 that best align with stories you already want to tell, and use number 8 as your fourth. This gives you flexibility to share a story or two of your choosing. If you’ve already written a Common App essay and/or supplementals, you already have “literary clay” to reshape.
Fun fact: The goal is simply to positively differentiate yourself across four essays.
